Bolzano and environs

A holiday destination full of highlights. Mediterranean lightness and sunny climate, picturesque vineyards and a majestic alpine scenery, romantic villages and urban flair, all combined with traditional dresses and modern elegance. South Tyrol offers all this and much, much more...

Between vines and apple trees

Along the famous Alto Adige Wine Road to Appiano/Eppan, Caldaro/Kaltern or Termeno/Tramin, passing through Laives/Leifers to Val Sarentino/Sarntal and up to the Renon/Ritten mountain. Many special places, villages and valleys belong to the southern South Tyrolean area Bolzano and environs. This sun-drenched region is known for its Mediterranean climate and its many vines and cypresses. Most South Tyrolean wines come from this area and on a special "Wine Safari" you will learn a lot about South Tyrol and its people.

After a long day of hiking, the two lakes, Lake of Caldaro/Kaltern (the warmest bathing lake in the Alps, by the way) and Lake Montiggl invite you to relax. And if you prefer a cultural program, the city of Bolzano/Bozen, with plenty of exhibitions and museums, is the place to be. One of the most famous museums is of course the Ötzi Museum with the Iceman.

The mountain areas in this holiday region, such as the Regglberg, the Monte Corno/Trudner Horn or the Bletterbach gorge, present a completely different view. Here you have a large choice of hiking trails.

On the road on two wheels

The South Tyrolean area of Bolzano and environs is a paradise for all bikers. This is mainly due to the long season: theoretically, it is possible to cycle all year round. From easy routes for the whole family along the Adige/Etsch, to the hilly Oltradige/Überetsch to the Montiggl Forest for all mountain bikers: there is something for everyone.

Wintertime in Bolzano and environs

Winter sports enthusiasts can really let off steam in the nearby Obereggen ski area, in Reinswald or on the Corno del Renon/Rittner Horn, with perfectly groomed slopes. Everything you could wish for a perfect holiday! In the villages and valleys the many nice, small Christmas markets invite you during the Advent season.
