Inside Bolzano

The arcades are particularly popular in this medieval town, with their ancient alleys and many shopping opportunities. In the middle of the arcades you can find the fruit market, which is always worth a visit. Also the Cathedral of Bolzano and the Piazza Walther/Walterplatz are very worth seeing.

Those who are interested in history should definitely visit the Museum of Archaeology: here you can see the oldest frozen mummy in the world, Ötzi also called the "Iceman". In the Museion - the museum of modern and contemporary art - on the other hand, art lovers get their money's worth.

Sport enthusiasts can take three cable cars from Bolzano to the surrounding mountains: the Renon/Ritten, San Genesio/Jenesien and Colle/Kohlern cable car. By the way, the Colle/Kohlern cableway is the oldest suspension railway in the world.
