Reinswald / San Martino

The municipality Reinswald/San Martino in the Sarntal valley is located in the heart of South Tyrol. The village is not only famous for its breathtaking natural landscape, but also for the valley’s inhabitant’s traditional lifestyle. Customs and traditions are very important here. A typical tradition of the Sarntal Valley is peacock-quill embroidery (known as Federkielstickerei), which is the skill of artistically decorating leather with split feather shafts.

During winter, the village becomes an exciting skiing area. The sunny and wide ski slopes are perfect for families. One of the longest South Tyrolean toboggan runs is part of the skiing area too and is also accessible on full moon evenings. In the traditional restaurants and inns, where you can taste delicious typical dishes, you will feel welcomed immediately.

You will never get bored here: enjoy a horse-carriage ride on fresh snow, a snowshoe hike, or cross-country skiing.

The absolute highlight is the Christmas market. There are a lot of lovingly decorated stands where craftspeople sell their handmade products. Additionally, you can find nice streets and many cozy cafés, which invite you to stop by.
